Were/was question...

(original sentence) There were several people Mother and I was attending.

(my suggested correction) There were several people Mother and I were attending.

(but could this be correct?) There was several people Mother and I were attending.

Thank you in advance!

"Was" cannot be correct. The use of "attending" can be a little confusing here with this particular sentence order. " Otherwise, two sentences: There were several people at the meeting.

Yes, they are attending to people in a healing capacity.

These three are OK, depending on what you mean.

There were several people, Mother, and I was attending. (You are talking to your mother.)

There were several people. Mother and I were attending. (Your mother and you were attending a meeting or whatever.)

There were several people (that) Mother and I were attending. (Your mother and you were tak

Me too! I greatly admire all of them, but cheetahs have always struck me as particularly fascinating for some reason.

I hope you will see Disney's new African Cats documentary, if you haven't already. A cheetah mother is one of the main characters. They are very impressive. A coworker of mine used to work in the San Antonio zoo. She told me that cheetahs are the largest cats that can purr. However, she didn't really try to pet them.

They purr LOUD. I saw one up close in Portland at the "Run for the Cheetah" event. It's interesting how lions seem larger in real life than they do on TV, while cheetahs seem smaller (still would not want to make one angry though)

Haven't seen that docu yet, but I will put it in my queue

It's in theaters now, and it's awesome (in the literal, not teen-speak use of the word) to see on the big screen. When you see the cheetah running at full speed, it takes your breath away.
