Were you asked to recite Shakespeare's "hamlet" in high school?

If so, may I know which part of the drama were you asked to recite of?
BTW, anyother essey or article were you asked to memorize of by your teachers? I want to follow your steps to improve my English.

Thanks lot.

Thank you. Would you recommend some of his players?
BTW, besides "Hamlet", what else did you memorize in your high school?

I never read Hamlet in high school, but I did read Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet and many, many other books. But I didn't have to memorize anything. You just write essays on them (and *** knows I've written a lot of essays).

I don't remember being made to memorize and recite anything in school. But oh yes, the essays!

I only half-remember "O Conspiracy" from Julius Caesar:

Brutus:

O Conspiracy,
Shamest thou to show thy dangerous brow by night,
When evils are most free? O, then, by day
Where wilt thou find a cavern dark enough
To mask thy monstrous visage? ...

I think memorizing passages from the classics is a good idea if you really wish to be

Hi,

I, too, had to memorize various soliloquies from Shakespeare. I, or my teacher, must have done a good job, because many of these I still pretty well remember today.

Best wishes, Clive

Yep, it was the same for me. I had to memorize the "To be or not to be..." bit and from Macbeth I can still remember "Is this a dagger I see before me, the handle toward my hand..." (though I don't remember it quite as well now as when I was in high school).
