It's largely OK. Personally I would not use "trending" like that. I associate the word more with news stories or fads on the Internet.

Personally I would not use "trending" like that. I associate the word more with news stories or fads on the Internet. I would say something like "popular" or "gaining in popularity". However, some people might be comfortable with "trending".
