Were coming\ would come

Hi guys,

Considering a scenario in which a person is expected to come to the office in the afternoon, but came in the morning. Although I think the first sentence is correct, I am interested to know what would be the difference between the following two sentences when expressing myself to the person about his expected arrival time to the office?

I thought you were coming to the office at 12:30 PM

I thought you would come to the office at 12:30 PM

Appreciated your help.
