Went through? or went between?

This is an entry in my blog. I wrote it figuratively.

..but last semester, school activities go between my inhales and exhales.

what should replace with go between? went throught/went between/go between? It's an action from past.

what i mean to say is one is so busy last semester with her school activities, that even breathing was so hard to do! hahaha! it's exxagerated.
