Went over the rock?

Hello,

I read the following sentence in a novel. Could you tell me the meaning of went over the rock ? Also the rock means a small stone or big one in the context. Thank you very much.

I saw a rock in fornt of us. We went over the rock. The sled flew into te air. I fell off and bumped on the ground.

A small stone that has a round shape - from the sea, say - is called a pebble

A large rock - maybe two or three metres wide - is sometimes called a boulder
