Went or Gone

Hi,

I always have a doubt to mention about my frnd absence.

How should i need to say "That he went to Delhi for some offical meet or he gone to delhi for some offical meet".

Please correct me.

He has gone to Delhi for an official meeting.

"He went to Delhi for some official meeting" is OK. This sentence can be used whether or not your friend has returned. In other words, he might still be in Delhi, or he might have gone there and then come back. This statement just says that he WENT there, at some time in the past (past tense).

"He HAS gone to Delhi for some official meeting" is OK. IMPORTANT! I had to add HAS in there; yo
