Went blank//blanked out

I went blank when I saw the large amount of the bill I had to pay.

Hi,

Is "went blank" in the above equal to "blanked out?" Thanks.

Hi, There's no real difference intended. The common form is 'I went blank / my mind went blank '. But in my experience 'I went blank' usually refers to a context in which I can't think of the answer to a question.
