Well -paying or well- paid job?

The question below is not mine, it's of my friend's (Am I right to use 's here?). I posted it here since nobody has answered him
We often talk about 'a well-paid job/ driver etc'. But I read such a sentence: 'It's hard to find a steady, well-paying job.' in the entry of 'steady' in the 4th edition of LONGMAN DICTIONARY OF CONTEMPORARY ENGLISH.

Is 'a well-paying job' a correct expression or is it a typo in the dictionary?

I searched on the reference.com web and got nearly as many of each of the expressions.

Thank you.
Why is there no quote function in this forum?

But in the compose menu, I haven't seen any signal of it. Let's forget about it for the time being. Is well paying a real word?

Do you know where to post problems on Oxford dictionary? I found two of the mistakes. However, does well paying job have the same meaning as well paid job?

Once you started a new topic, mister, where can I quote sources from other sites

>However, does well paying job have the same meaning as well paid job?

You must use the dash (-) for both.

IMO:

- in well-paying job, the accent is on the fact that the job provides you with a good (and steady) source of income on a continuous basis (see the usage of the paying, which is continuous form)

- in well-paid job

I don't think it so. Present participle express an active meaning whilist past participle express a passive one. So IMHO, that means when we use a well- paying job, we say that the job is good for its salary, the fact of the job. When we use a well- paid job, it means we can get the high salary from the job. Am I right? Still there's a lot to be desire

Actually, "well" is one of the words that does not take a hyphen when forming a compound adjective, in most style guides.
