'Well noted', what does it mean?

Hello

My teacher just replied my email and he just wrote "well noted". I only sent my paper that I attached on my email, and I did not write anything on the email. Why did he write 'well noted'? Did he compliment my work? But as far as I know, the meaning of 'well noted' is not for giving compliment.

Thank you
