I've never seen "well explained" with "to the last detail" Have you? I can't find an example.
Is it 'up to the last detail'?

This is OK:

Everything was explained to the last detail.
0
"Up to the last detail" would also be acceptable.
"Up to and including the last detail" would also be acceptable.
