Well but

I have said (wrote) 'well but', and my friend said it's disgusting. Not the topic we were talking, using 'well but' is disgusting, he said. Is this true?

In what context did you use it? I can't think of any context in which it could be disgusting.

Well, but what about using it like this? (Still not "disgusting", in my opinion, but I'm guessing this is more like the usage being questioned.)

I've forgotten completely lol. You mean it's not disgusting as long as it is properly used and doesn't provoke the anger against a listener. Thank you!!
