Welcome to comment on the Chinese traditional Kongfu/Action film

Question

In recent years, China put out several action film like 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' directed by Ang Lee, 'Hero' and 'House of Flying Daggers' by Yimou Zhang, and 'Seven Swords' by Tsui Hark and etc. I am not sure if you have watched one or more of them, anyway, any comment will be welcome.

I watched 3 of these 4 except the first one, which, actually is the most appreciated one in China. These 4 films concentrated on expressing most different idea including frendship, patriot and of coz Kongfu.

House of Flying Daggers has been discussed at length.

Crouching Tiger. hmmm...The movie's reputation outstrips its value, I think. Breathtaking cinematography imposed on a banal plot line.

Hero is the Chinese kungfu reincarnation of Roshomon (with a positive twist). A better movie than Crouching Tiger in general, though, like Flying Daggers, the fighting scenes were waaay over the top.

haha.i have seen all of the four.and didn't like any of them!as for <hero>,i think it is too tedious,boring.<the house of flying daggers> have no concent except for beautiful scenery.

then <seven swords>,i think the time of a film is too short to expand the wonderful story .the content of them were too simple ,and the characters of them were not distinct and attracting.

perhaps partly because i didn't watch them in the cinema,just VCD on computer.and they were somehow vague.

Have you watched Bruce Lee's movies? Although the special effects are not as good as new films, Bruce's kongfu is really good. What's more, Let li's "FIST OF LEGEND" is also an excellent movie. The story is generally the same with Bruce's "FIST OF FURY", with better effects.

0Under this topic, it really appears to be the Chinese get-together. Maybe, just the Chinese have the high right to comment on Kongfu film, although people in other countries have head about the troditional Chinese Kongfu. I merely enjoyed two of the above-mentioned movies: Hero and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Compared with the former Kongfu film, new booming ones is better. I should say that the motion picture industrials has made fantastic progress under the industrious work of a great number of actors, actress, editors, direcotors and other person involved in. Otherwise, If we put the Chinese films with the alien ones, obviously we can tell the good from the bad. New-generation directors are struggling hard to catch up with the international pace. At this point, they are shortening the distances. For these two movies, the beautiful cloure, especially in Hero make my eyes bright. I dislike the odd and  tedious plot. The latter, the scene is ok, the plot is not so attractive. Generally, Warriors of Heaven and Earth is better, referring to the plot or the scene. I prefer to wathch the touching story instead of hollow beautiful pictures. Charming picture plus amazing story and the proper music effect will be called super creatures in my eyes.0-

0frankly say,chinese kongfu film is more commercial day and day.and it has lacked the original mental.it add some conceptive and unreal action.i really don't like it and very disappoint.what about your opinion?0-
