Welcome on stage

Hi

Is it correct to say:

To welcome/invite someone on stage?

What about 'to the stage'?

Thanks

On stage. " To the stage could work, but I see it as a slightly less efficient way of expressing the same thing. "To" emphasizes the motion of going from point A to point B, and it requires an extra word.
