Welcome ...into the world

Hi

A certain woman was reading a book written by her friend and she said: From that day to this, my job has been to welcome Sonia's book into the world. This was easy: I read it in nightly installments like a thriller. I got to ask all the questions I wanted. She had the answers.

--- What does she mean by saying: welcome her book into the world? Personally I think it means something like: I have been bringing this book, the message it contains to light.
