What is 'two in one' called, if 'three in one' is called a trinity?

Top answer

The analogous word would seem to be "duality", but one would need to see the full context to be sure that it fits.

Yes, it could work. For example, this is an example randomly thrown up by Google search which reads fine:

In the New Testament, the Apostle John begins by making the duality of *** clear ... but he never mentions the Holy Spirit -- this is known as a binitarian position.

Twin or pair. Duality and dualism imply two things that are opposites or different, while twin and pair suggest two things that are like one, as trinity implies three things that are united as a single entity.

Apparently the word is "biune". This is a very rare word, and I think most native speakers would not know it (I didn't). However, there are a few credible-looking Google hits for "biune deity", so it seems that the term does actually exist.
