weird "the"

Looking over a book I found:

I go to the piano class on Monday.
I go to the swimming class on Monday.
I go to the soccer class on Monday.

I feel like the "the" is wrong, but when asking a friend for help we couldn't figure out why it's not supposed to be there and why it was there. Is it a typo or is there something I don't know?

I understand when you say "I go to the classroom on Monday" its there because you're talking about a specific classroom, right? But you don't say "I go to the class." because "I go to class.", right?
