Vocabulary

weight band

What does it mean: have a happy weight band in the context:

Have a happy weight band (title of the following paragraph)

..that's why having one goal for your perfect weight isn't the best plan. Instead, have a 1-2 kg zone in which you aim to stay. Weigh yourself once a week -if at any point you go over the highest figure on that buffer, make it a rule to cut back calories and increase exercise to get that extra weight off.

What's buffer?

Thank you

"Band" here means "range", for example from 55 to 58 kgs. When you're inside that figure range, you're OK, you're safe. It's your "buffer" (protection against harm, thank you Cambridge).
