weighed or weighted

Now, perform a weighted competitive strength assessment. To do so, apply weights to the key success factors. For example, if your industry key success factors include product reliability and manufacturing efficiency, and they are of about equal importance, they should be assigned the same weight. If both of those factors are less important than, say, customer service, and you deem customer service to be twice as important, then assign it a weight commensurate with that assessment. After you have weighted all of the key success factors, then multiply those rates by the ratings you assigned to each company, and add the results again. Compare each competitor's score and don't be surprised if a different picture emerges.
