Am I right to say that "wee hours" means the early hours? I know wee means small but I think it has a different meaning after putting it with hours right? For example, the wee hours of the morning. Does that mean the time between 12am to 2am? Thanks

In the set of numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 are much smaller than 9, 10, 11, 12. So 1 am or 2 am is more "wee" than 10 pm or 11 pm, and so on!

There is no specific range of time for the 'wee hours', Xenon, but about 1 am to 3 am is more like it-- they are really 'wee' or 'small': '1, 2, 3', when compared to '10, 11, 12'. The meaning, of course, is the very late hours of the night.
