I hope I'm not violating any rules of this group with this post. If so, I apologize.
Anyway, here goes: I made a website dedicated to English teaching and learning. Teachers can create their own courses there, with lesson material, quizzes, journals, forums, assignments and such. These courses can accompany the teacher's real classroom work, or they can be online courses. The teacher can set up an enrolment key, in this case the students can only enroll if they got the key. Without enrolment key, the course will be available to all registered students. Courses can be in weekly mode, or in topic mode. The possibilities are too many to list them all here.
The URL of the site is
http://www.openenglish.net. If you're interested in trying what you can do there as a teacher, register with the site, and send a request to the site admin with your user id (I have to set you up as a teacher). Also, tell me which categories of courses you would like to see. If you think this is rubbish, let me know, and also why, please. I'd really like to hear your opinions.
And now for the disclaimer: I am not doing this to make money. The site's services are free. The basic idea is to give teachers a tool to teach online without being bothered with HTML, Javascript, SQL, XML and so on.
There
are actually a few things I hope to gain: I hope this site will become a beehive of activity. I'm a programmer now, but I hope to be a teacher of English one day, so I thought this might be a way to get in touch with teachers and teaching. If the site is a success, it might be easier for me later to find a job as a teacher.
Well, thanks for your patience. If you're still with me, you might as well click on the link :) >
