Weaving ?

Every time, half of the participants were asked to tighten certain muscles by making their handinto a fist, sitting down and lifting their heels off the floor, or holding a pen by tightly weaving it between their fingers.
I don't understand what exactly the phrase weaving it between their fingers means so visually I cannot picture it. I need to explain the paragraph to other students. Could you explain it in a way I can understand. Thanks
