WEARING UNIFORMS

I totally agree that students should wear school uniforms when they go to school. The first reason, as well as the most important, is that wearing uniforms helps them to save time each morning they go to school. They do not have to think about what to wear, spend much time trying so many clothes until they find the best one, which likely causes them to be late for school. Moreover, wearing uniforms should reduce the pressure of choosing clothes on students. Some students may be afraid of other students’ opinions, wondering if the clothes they are wearing are truly suitable and look good on them. Many students, especially adolescents, are sensitive to others’ opinions, which results in many unfortunate events if the opinions are too harsh and rude. Therefore, wearing uniforms can help reduce school violence, especially verbal abuse because everyone looks the same, regardless of gender, hobby, financial condition. In addition, uniforms help students to concentrate more on academic performances. A school is not for fashion shows, but learning and developing. Last but not least, wearing uniforms gives students a sense of belonging to something. It makes them feel safe, being protected; consequently, it encourages them to work harder at school and, somehow, to show more of themselves. In my opinion, school uniforms are very necessary for students.
