Wear

Can I use the verb "wear" in the following way:

"Wear your bag"

?

Top answer

Probably because a bag is not something that we normally think of someone as wearing. But we do say things like 'She was wearing a backpack'. Clive

Hi,

That doesn't sound right.Probably because a bag is not something that we normally think of someone as wearing.

But we do say things like 'She was wearing a backpack'.

I agree with Clive. It wouldn't necessarily sound wron in every case, but bags are normally carried not worn.
