Hi. Teachers~
I have a question about the difference between 'weak spot' and 'weakness' when it comes to liking something or somebody.
It seems they are interchangeable.
I have a real weakness for fashionable clothes.
I’ve always had a weak spot for chocolate.
Thanks in advance~

They are not. You can have a weakness for clothes or chocolate. You can't have a weakness for a person. You can have a soft spot, not a weak spot, for a person. You can't have a soft spot for clothes or chocolate. A floor or a theory can have a weak spot. There is no figurative expression using "weak spot".
