We will make a horrible example out of you

Hi

Could you please tell me if both of the following sentences are perfectly OK?

1) We will make a horrible example out of you.
2) I don't want you to be made a horrible example of.

Thanks,

Tom

Well, they both express rather unpleasant intentions. #2 is very informal and rather an awkward choice anyway. You had better delete 'out' in #1.
