"We will be closed" versus "We will be closing"

I posted a memo to announce upcoming Holiday hours. My question to you is, which of these is grammatically correct and why, please?

"We will be closing at noon on Friday, December 22nd."

"We will be closed at noon on Friday, December 22nd."

I posted the first version but my boss has challenged me, stating the second option would be grammatically correct. Looking forward to your response. Thanks!

Both are correct. Here is my interpretation, given only one sentence.

1. We will be open the morning of 22 Dec. We will be closing at noon (That is the plan. If I arrive at 11:58, I can complete my purchases. After noon, I will not be able to shop.).
