We use them to cut food when we bite into it/them

Do we use 'it' or 'them' here? Any could you tell me why?

I think we use 'it' here but I am not sure.

In any case, it would probably be better to say: "We use it to cut food."

(Say: "Could anybody tell me...?")

Oh sorry. I was referring to our incisors.

'it/them' refers to food.
