"We take it our duty to stay till the end." Any mistake here?

We take it our duty to stay till the end.

Is this sentence grammatically correct? Do I have to put the word 'as' after the word 'it'?

Thank you.

I would add "as". Nevertheless, you will find examples where "as" is omitted before certain expressions: take it our [duty / goal / privilege / responsibility / priority] to ... Personally, I can tolerate it without "as" in these few cases, even though it is probably technically incorrect in the majority of cases.
