We should use high or dense in this case?

Please help me in this sentence I should use dense or high:The atmosphere is 350 miles dense/high and is held to the Earth by gravity. Thanks you very for helping!

Hi,

Well, if you only have those choices, choose 'high'. But it's not a very suitable word.

I prefer to speak of the atmosphere as being X miles 'thick'.

However, I would suggest that when you say 'NASA', the first thing that comes to people's minds is not ''Excellent and careful English'.

With 'extends to', I'd recommend '. . . extends to a height of 50 kilometers'.
