we ordered 3 fish-es?

Howdy,

Is this sentence OK?

When I was in Shanghai me and my friends went to a restaurant and we ordered 3 fishes.

I don't think we can add -es to fish but I might be wrong Emotion: wink

Top answer

Fishes is rarely used; just say fish . The sentence is OK informally, but put a comma after Shanghai and one before the second and.
