And we've been completely away from books lately. We must enhance/regulate/strengthen/better our reading habits.

That kind of conversation between students would be much simpler and more casual. eg We haven't done any reading for a long time. We'd better start again / get serious about it again.

eg We haven't done any reading for a long time. We'd better start again / get serious about it again.
