New2grammarMany times during yesterday's evening -- we meet up at a cafe -- X tried to provoke Y by talking about how much he hated Y's unfaithfulness. It really made the rest of us uncomfortable. This doesn't make complete sense to me.
Is the above correct?
Thanks.
PhilipMany times during last evening's [accidental? planned?]planned.
optilangThis doesn't make complete sense to me.
We met up at a cafe yesterday/last evening, and
New2grammarI can't quite understand why as planned is needed. Doesn't met up imply a planned activity? Not necessarily, for me. In fact I checked my dictionary and it gives - happen to meet as a definition.
Thanks.
nona the britLast evening sounds very unatural to me. Last night is more appropriate. Yesterday evening is also fine. But 'last evening', very oddI agree. In fact, I would say it should be 'yesterday evening', NOT 'last evening'.
