We have to wait until the cement sets.

We have to wait until the cement sets/dries.

We have to wait until the paint dries/sets.

Hi,

Do both "sets' and "dries" fit in the above and mean about the same to you? Thanks.

With cement they're about the same, but I would guess that most people would probably say sets . With paint I would only use dries . CJ
