We had a bird's-eye view/perspective of the city as we flew over it.

Will the meaning change if 'over' is replaced by 'above'?

Thanks

Hi, PBF, They could mean the same thing. In some cases, "over" implies sort of a straight line path, enroute to somewhere else. In some cases, "above" implies hovering, or circling - just hanging around.
