We don't need no education

Hi there everybody,

I'd like to know the grammar rule that explains

exactly the error in constructions such as:

"we don't need no education" or " I have no idea".

Anonymous we do n't need no education There is a double negative in the sentence. Say: We need no education or We´do n't need [any] education. Anonymous I have no idea No double negation.

"we don't need no education" This is called a double negative.

I wouldn't say it is incorrect grammar.
