We are, therefore vs Therefore, we are

1. Progress so far has been very good. We are, therefore, confident that the work will be completed on time.
2. Progress so far has been very good. Therefore, we are confident that the work will be completed on time.

I know that "therefore" is used correctly in both sentences. However, is there a subtle difference in meaning between them?
