Wave erosion

Hello,

Is my paragraph proper?

The lecture is about erosion which he defines as wearing away the Earth's surface by means of wind or water. The professor states that the most common type of the erosion is coastal erosion. Waves erode shoreline in 2 ways. First, wave abrasion. It happens when the shorelines are made up loose materials, so every time water waves hit the shoreline tiny rock in waves scrap a rock surface and dislodge loose and weak debris from the rock. Therefore, the British shorelines have the appearance as if they cut into. Second , waves impact. Waves pound rocks and create cracks within a rock. Every time waves hit the rocks, the water compresses the air in the crack, resulting rocks break apart.

Thank you in advance.

You are using the phrase "each time" so the logical companion is "a wave." You do not have several waves striking during a single moment.
