Hi.

The first sentence is imparative.

But the second one is a noun phrase which is not complete per se. It can be part of another sentence.

Watering plants everyday is one of his responsibility. (noun phrase)

I hate watering plants everyday. (Gerund)

Cheers

Both are not considered correct becasue they are not complete sentences by definition. You need a subject, "he" or "she" for # 1.

# 2 is a fragment. ,

You need a subject, "he" or "she" for # 1.-- No, as mentioned above, it is an imperative sentence.

Mr. MM,

Thanks, I understand "take out the garbage", "go sleep" and "don't come back!" are imperative. "Water plants every day"

just doesn't sound imperative to me. Maybe I didn't see it as one.
