Watched "Ocean's 12"

Possible minor SPOILERS...
Am I just getting cynical in my old age, or did this thing take like forever to get going? Over 20 minutes before they started really doing anything. For some reason they decided we had to meet everyone from "Ocean's 11" in their native habitats. Why? I think the two main characters would have been enough then the obligatory "meet and greet" and then get going 5-7 minutes tops. Besides, I didn't remember any of these characters anyhow. I thought, crap, maybe I should have watched "Ocean's 11" again so I could place all these people. Then I thought do I really give a rat's ass what they are doing at their homes most of them were just faces anyhow and then they were "throw aways" in this movie.
Maybe I have a tin ear, but the sound track sounded weird to me. Was it supposed to imply "European" or something?
The story seemed thin like they could have done it in an hour if they got going. (And maybe that's why they spent 20 minutes re-introducing every player.) Worse than this though, is the fact that the actors didn't convince me that there really was any urgency. The whole bit with Bruce Willis being Bruce Willis and Julia Roberts pretending to be Julia Roberts kind of fell flat for me. It was like the writer, director and actors were telling the viewers that this was getting too stupid to take seriously so you might as well try a little laughing. Then it seemed like they took you about 20 different directions for no particular reason.

It sure seems like they could have made better use of all these well known actors.

I saw it opening weekend in the theater, and, for what it's worth, the packed house LOVED this gag.
Although to me it came at a really high price - the reality of the rest of the movie.
I think I wrote more about it at the time. It's a pale shadow of

IMO, it never did.

[nq:1]Possible MAJOR SPOILERS... The worst thing about it for me was the payoff. Or rather, the lack thereof. Okay, so they stole it beforehand. What the **** were they doing all this time, then?? Why have I been wasting my time watching these stupid games?[/nq]
I'll give you kudos for making an effort to figure out the double-cross, double-double-cros

I didn't have enough steam left to hit the "Stop" button.

That's kind of how it "hit" me. It's another movie where it seems incredible that they wouldn't find a decent script when they're spending all that money on t

The idea was kind of funny for a comedy. But you're right, how are we supposed to take the rest of the movie seriously? This was supposed to be suspenseful.

Funny. I kind of liked the idea
