Watched English Channels

Hi

When I asked someone to describe what he did the previous evening, he said:

After playing cricket for an hour, my son and I took bath and watched English channels till dinner at 9PM, My family members all together ate dinner and later we went to sleep.

I've underlined 3 portions of the text - am wondering if there's a better way to say them.

Also please let me know if there are any other mistakes I didn't catch.

Thank you
