"waste yourself"

0 Hi, I would like to ask what does the phrase "waste yourself" mean? Does it have something to do with alholic activities or does it just mean  "enjoy yourself"? Thanks in advance.0-

0Hi, I can't really recall where did I see it from, but I believe it was referring to the party/celebration moment. Something like "get wasted" or "waste yourself" in the party. I interpreted as enjoying yourself or drinking until drunk, but perhaps I was very wrong here. Because right now I'm trying to write a composition where "enjoying yourself" is involved, so I was wondering if I can use "w

0 My dictionary doesn't mention "waste oneself", but GG's interpretation is the way I would use its literal translation in Italian (=sprecarsi). Curious! I have no idea if that's ok in English, but "wasted" is definitely used to mean "drunk" or "stoned". 0-

Native English speaker from the American South here. I've always taken the phrase to mean suicide. As in, "He wasted himself." Might be a regional thing, but I dunno for sure.
