This may be a question someone's wife may ask when she greets her husband at the door at the end of the day.
whatchadoinHow is your day?
You can say this ( in the office, or wherever condition may apply) as a form of greeting but timing is crucial.

My two cents - I would consider the question "how is your day?" to be rather odd without something like "going" or "so far" on the end. It may be common to others but I've never encountered it!
