Washed down with a bottle of beer?

Hi all,
what's the meaning of the prase:"washed down with a bottle of beer" in the following sentences:
"What do you think?"
"Oh, yes!"
"'Oh, yes.' If you had your way, it'd be a three-minute wedding in jeans and T-shirts, washed down with a bottle of beer."
Could you explain it/transform it more simply?
Thank you very much.

wash down - to drink a liquid quickly to help you swallow something else (pills, popcorn, peanuts...)

It seems here that this wedding is something to be done very quickly with no fancy clothes. Then you drink beer to "wash it down." Probably it means to get drunk so you can forget the wedding.

This is a negative comment on the type of wedding the person wants. The person - most likely the groom - wants a quick, informal wedding, with no trimmings. The speaker - most likely the bride - doesn't like this at all, and exaggerates the situation: "3 minutes for the whole thing, everyone in jeans and t-shirts, and a bottle of beer for everyone afterwards."
