Scenario:
2 weeks ago:
Speaker A: This jacket is nice. I'll buy it for you but I don't have the money right now. You can buy it and I'll pay you back.
Speaker B: Sure.

Now:
1.
Speaker B: No, you don't have to pay me back.
Speaker A: But I said I would buy that jacket for you.

2.
Speaker B: No, you don't have to pay me back.
Speaker A: But I said I was going to buy that jacket for you.

What does #1 mean when I use 'would'?
