Was the Question phrased correctly?

I've been divorced since 1981.
A friend recently asked me"do you ever miss not being married"?
I said no I can't miss Not being married as I am NOT married.
I think the question should have been, "so you ever miss being married"?
who is right?

You are right! [<:o)]

(I would have put the "AM" in caps rather than the "not.")
