I was in an argument whether I should use was invited, have been invited or both are correct.
The sentence is: "I can't go out with you because I ___(invited) to a birthday party." I know have been invited is correct, but is was invited also correct?
Thanks in advance!
Top answer
"have been invited" is better. No doubt people sometimes say "was invited", and it is not definitely incorrect.
