So I was at a social yesterday, and someone asked whose energy drink that was. Then I answered "mine..... I slept like 1 hour today." When I said "mine", could that have been taken as rude because it's a bit direct? Should I have said "that is mine" instead?
Was everything I wrote here grammatically correct btw?
"Mine" might be a little abrupt. "(Oh,) That's mine" might be better. But it depends on the context.

"Mine" might be a little abrupt. "(Oh,) That's mine" might be better. But it depends on the context. Among close friends "mine" would generally be okay. And it also depends on how you say "mine." If you say it with a kind of "lilt" or "mellowness" or "drowsiness" in you voice, it wouldn't be taken as rude.
