Hello,
I decided to start a new thread about "from" because I want to know more answers. because sometimes, even native English speakers give different answers. I will be happy if dear native English speakers give their opinions about those 5 sentences.

Note: I searched for it in the forum but the threads didn't help me.

Would you please comment on number 4 and 5? What's your opinion about them? Are they both correct?

Thank you

5 - incorrect It's contradictory because "I had been" suggests you had been but no longer are here, then "here" suggests you are here. " HOWEVER it can be correct if you were here, went away, and then came back, so are here, yet able to talk about "had been" here in the distant past. " 3.

  • Rather like 5 and 4 this can be true if you plan to go away and come back again, so whilst being here you can also say you will be here in the future (after a period away) 2 - fine 1 - I think this is fine.

You have to resolve it by either being here -
"I have been here..."
or not here
"I had been there..."
HOWEVER it can be correct if you were here, went away, and then came back, so are here, yet able to talk about "had been" here in the dista
