was for/in past few days

Hi,

Would it make sense to say " I was busy for the past few days" or " I was busy in the past few days" ? Or does it have to be " I have been" ?

Thanks

MustAsk does it have to be " I have been" ? It doesn't have to be, but it sounds much better this way. To me, anyway.
